Intrepid Travel has started an emergency appeal to help people in Northern Vietnam affected by Typhoon Yagi. The appeal, run through The Intrepid Foundation, aims to provide urgent support to those impacted by the storm, which hit on 7 September 2024.

All donations will go to the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, a local organisation providing essentials like food, shelter, and electricity to thousands left without homes due to flooding and landslides. Blue Dragon will also assist with rebuilding homes destroyed by the storm.

“Typhoon Yagi has been the largest storm to impact Vietnam in over 30 years. By supporting this appeal, the international travel community can directly contribute to the humanitarian relief efforts,” said Biheng Zhang, General Manager of The Intrepid Foundation.

The appeal will support children and families across 13 northern provinces. Intrepid has confirmed that all travellers and staff in Vietnam are safe, and trips in the country continue to operate. Groups in affected areas are being rerouted with alternative plans.

Intrepid has worked with local community groups in Vietnam for over 10 years, and Vietnam remains one of its most popular destinations.

Donations can be made through the Vietnam Typhoon Yagi Appeal to assist with recovery efforts.
