Nassau Cruise Port (NCP) in The Bahamas has announced it has set a new record for passenger numbers, welcoming 5.6 million cruise passengers in 2024. This marks the second consecutive year of record-breaking growth for the port.

In 2023, Nassau Cruise Port hosted 4.4 million passengers, up from 3.2 million in 2022. This continued growth signals a strong and steady upward trend in the port's traffic.

In total, The Bahamas welcomed approximately 9.1 million visitors in 2024, with 61%, or 5.6 million, arriving via cruise ships at Nassau Cruise Port.

“We are incredibly proud to reach this significant milestone for the second year in a row,” said Mike Maura Jr., CEO of Nassau Cruise Port. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication and collaboration of our talented team, our valued partners and the Bahamian people.”

Maura also emphasised the role of stakeholders in the port's success: “We could not have reached this point without the unwavering support of our stakeholders, including the government of The Bahamas, our cruise line partners, local businesses and the community at large.”

Looking ahead, Nassau Cruise Port plans further expansion to enhance its facilities and visitor experience. New developments will include improved transport options to local attractions, family-friendly activities, dining venues, and sustainable practices.

“The future promises even more growth for The Bahamas and its residents, and more incredible Authentically Bahamian experiences for our visitors from around the world,” said Maura.
