Malaysia officially launched its Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign on 6 January 2025 at Hangar 6, MAB Engineering Complex. The event, officiated by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, unveiled the campaign’s logo, mascot, theme song, and aircraft livery.

For the first time, the VM2026 logo will appear on the aircraft of Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air, and AirAsia. This collaborative effort underscores a unified push to promote Malaysia as a top tourist destination.

The campaign’s theme song, Surreal Experiences, was also premiered during the launch. According to organisers, the song embodies Malaysia’s unique appeal and will play a key role in drawing international attention.

A Malayan Sun Bear, an endangered species native to Malaysia, has been chosen as the official mascot. Designed in an animated style, it reflects the country’s focus on wildlife conservation and aims to resonate with audiences of all ages.

The event highlighted Malaysia’s ambition to welcome 35.6 million international visitors and generate RM147.1 billion (US$32.8 billion) in tourism receipts by 2026. The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, led by YB Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, outlined the campaign’s broader objectives, including boosting tourism revenues and supporting economic growth across sectors such as hospitality, transport, and retail.

The launch featured the signing of Memoranda of Collaboration with partners including Malaysia Aviation Group, AirAsia, Mastercard, and Marriott International. These partnerships aim to enhance connectivity and visitor experiences through innovative technologies and promotional initiatives.

In preparation for VM2026, the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2025 will take place on 8 February 2025 at the Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, blending cultural heritage with fitness and community engagement.
