Two beaches in Southeast Asia have been named among the top three beaches in the world.

The World’s 50 Best Beaches for 2025 were selected by 1,000 travel industry professionals, with top spot awarded to Cala Goloritzé in Sardinia, Italy, which is marked by a dramatic limestone pinnacle that rises above the beach.

The beach is accessible by boat, or by a roughly 3.5-km trek along a foot path from a parking lot.

Final rankings were calculated by sifting through each judge’s description of what makes the beach special.

Second place went to Entalula Beach in Palawan, Philippines. Accessible only by boat, the judges said Entalula “adds an element of adventure and exclusivity to any visit”.

In third place overall, Bang Bao beach on the Thai island of Koh Kood is “framed by lush jungle and very clear, shallow waters ideal for swimming and just an overall laid-back atmosphere”.

The judges added, “What also makes Bang Bao beach unique is its charming fishing village, where visitors can stroll along a wooden pier and enjoy fresh seafood at local restaurants.”

Other beaches in Southeast Asia to be ranked among The World’s 50 Best Beaches are Pink Beach, in Komodo National Park, Indonesia, (13th); Pulau Palambak, Sumatra (27th);  Freedom Beach Phuket (28th), and Bon Beach on Romblon Island, the Philippines (38th).
