Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) has unveiled significant leadership updates to drive its luxury cruise expansion and bolster operations in Asia Pacific. These announcements include the appointment of Jason Montague as chief luxury officer and the promotion of Damian Borg to senior director of sales strategy & operations for Asia Pacific.

Jason Montague appointed chief luxury officer

Effective 17 February 2025, Jason Montague will assume the role of chief luxury officer at NCLH, overseeing Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises. This appointment is part of NCLH’s “Charting the Course” strategy, which includes a multibillion-dollar investment in fleet expansion and refurbishment for its ultra-premium and luxury brands.

Montague, an industry veteran, will lead efforts to enhance the luxury cruise market, with a focus on delivering five newbuilds and executing refurbishments across both brands. Oceania Cruises is set to welcome its newest ship, Allura, later this year, with three more vessels joining the fleet by 2029. Refurbishments of Marina and Riviera are scheduled for 2026 and 2027, respectively. Regent Seven Seas Cruises will see upgrades to Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager in 2025 and 2026, along with two new ships by 2029.

“Jason brings exceptional strategic expertise and a strong focus on our ‘Charting the Course’ strategy. His leadership will set new standards in upscale travel,” said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of NCLH.

Industry veteran and president of Oceania Cruises, Frank A. Del Rio, will report directly to Montague.

Montague expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I am deeply honoured to once again lead Regent Seven Seas Cruises and collaborate with Frank in leading Oceania Cruises. This is an exciting time for both brands as we deliver sophisticated and luxurious ships with state-of-the-art offerings.”

Outgoing Regent Seven Seas Cruises President Andrea DeMarco will remain in her role until 4 March 2025.
