Chinese cruise line Adora Cruises has appointed Roger Chen Ranfeng as its new CEO. Chen, who was instrumental in the founding of Adora Cruises, will now take full responsibility for the company’s operations and oversee its growth into the next phase of development.

Adora Cruises is a China’s first cruise line focused on providing tailored vacation experiences for the Chinese market, operating Chinese-built ships and offers services designed to meet the preferences of both domestic and international passengers. The line currently operates two ships—Adora Magic City and Adora Mediterranea—and serves nearly 500,000 passengers annually.

Chen has a strong track record with Adora, having served as CEO during its early years. He played a key role in the launch of Adora Magic City, the first Chinese-built large cruise ship, and Adora Mediterranea, also known as the ‘Ship of Art.’ From July 2024, he had been serving as a senior advisor to the board of directors.

“I am honoured to once again lead Adora Cruises into a new exciting chapter,” said Chen. “Adora Cruises is an ambitious cruise company with full-functioning operation capabilities. Alongside our trusted and valued partners, our focus remains on delivering exceptional cruise vacation experiences tailored to the Chinese market.”

Chen’s leadership at Adora follows a successful tenure as chairman of Carnival Corp. & plc in China, where he helped strengthen the company’s partnership with China State Shipbuilding Group and expanded its presence in the Chinese market.

In recent developments, China Cruises Limited has injected capital into Adora Cruises, now holding a 65% stake, with CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co. Ltd. holding 35%.
