The Port of Tokyo is set to expand its cruise facilities with the reopening of the Harumi Cruise Terminal in June 2025. This new facility will complement the existing Tokyo International Cruise Terminal and accommodate small to medium-sized passenger vessels.

Located near the heart of Tokyo, the Harumi Cruise Terminal provides convenient access to key tourist areas. Ginza, renowned for its high-end shopping and dining, is just a 10-minute drive away. Nearby Toyosu offers attractions such as the Toyosu Market, famous for fresh seafood, sushi tours, and tuna auctions. Visitors can also relax at Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai, which features open-air baths overlooking Tokyo Bay and a footbath garden.

Other nearby destinations include Tsukiji, known for its vibrant market and fresh cuisine, and Tsukishima, celebrated for monjayaki, a traditional Tokyo dish. Visitors can explore Tsukishima Monja Street to sample this speciality.

Further afield, Tokyo offers a diverse range of experiences. Cultural landmarks like Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa and sumo wrestling matches in Ryogoku provide insights into traditional Japanese culture. For modern attractions, teamLab Borderless in Azabudai Hills offers an immersive digital art experience, while Shibuya and Roppongi cater to nightlife, shopping, and museum enthusiasts.

With the addition of the Harumi Cruise Terminal, the Port of Tokyo will increase its capacity for cruise ships, enhancing its position as a gateway for international travellers. In 2024, over 70 cruise ships docked at the port, benefiting from its accessibility to Haneda and Narita airports and proximity to iconic attractions.
