It’s not the recommended way to board a cruise ship, which is why a man who climbed mooring ropes securing Carnival Adventure to Sydney’s Circular key has been charged  with offences relating to unauthorised entry.

The reason the 29-year-old climbed the mooring ropes has yet to be divulged but police were not impressed by his antics.

A police boat arrived at the scene to assist Carnival Adventure’s crew on the wharf but the man refused to be talked down.

Only when the mooring line was lowered towards the police boat were the long arms of the law able to grab the man and detain him.
