Tourists applying for a visa to Dubai will now face additional requirements as part of efforts to enhance security and manage visitor numbers.
The new regulations stipulate that applicants must provide proof of accommodation and a confirmed return flight ticket to obtain a tourist visa. According to Dubai authorities, this measure aims to ensure compliance with visa regulations and prevent overstaying.
Accommodation proof
Applicants are required to submit a confirmed hotel booking as proof of accommodation. Those staying with friends or family must also provide additional documentation, including proof of the host's residency.
Return flight ticket
Travellers must present a confirmed return ticket. Open-ended or one-way tickets will not be accepted, and failure to comply may result in visa application rejection.
Financial proof
Dubai has also introduced a financial requirement. Visa applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient funds via credit or debit cards. The financial thresholds are:
5,000 Dirhams (US$1,360) for a two-month visa
3,000 Dirhams (US$816) for a three-month visa
These new measures are designed to manage the increasing influx of tourists, promote pre-planned itineraries, and improve overall travel experiences.
