Bali has taken a big step in its ambition to become a major international medical tourism centre with the opening in Sanur of the Bali International Hospital.
The medical complex sits at the heart of the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) – a government-designated area developed to become Indonesia’s premier destination for healthcare, wellness, and tourism.
The government hopes the new hospital will persuade more Indonesians to stay at home for their medical treatments, while at the same time, attracting medical tourists to Bali.
Clinical specialties will include cardiology, oncology, neurology, and orthopaedics.
An emergency department will also provide ICU care and private ambulance services for emergency patients. These services are in addition to comprehensive health screening packages, and services in women’s and children’s health, travel medicine and vaccinations.
