A cruise ship that was once the fastest in the P&O Cruises fleet is coming to Malaysia thanks to a charter agreement with Hwaijing Tours and Travel.

Now sailing in Asia as Piano Land, the former Oriana will be home-ported in Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang) and Penang.

Fully charted by cruise agency specialists Hwajing, it will debut in Malaysia in December 2025 and offer cruises around the region.

“This momentous occasion marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for Hwajing, reaffirming our commitment to advancing cruise tourism in the region,” said Hwajing founder Kenny Cheong.

“In line with the spirit of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, Piano Land will feature a rich blend of Asian cultural heritage, immersive travel experiences, and the renowned Malaysian warmth and hospitality – all aboard an unforgettable voyage at sea.”

Piano Land was bought and renamed in August 2019 by newly-formed Chinese  cruise line Astro Ocean. The name was chosen in reference to the Chinese island of Gulangyu, off the coast of Xiamen, which is associated with music and known as the 'Island of Music’.

The ship has a maximum capacity of 1,850 passengers.
