Get ready for “a whole new world' to unfold in the Middle East, as the Walt Disney Company and Miral have announced plans to develop a new Disney theme park resort on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, marking Disney’s first park announcement since Shanghai Disney Resort in 2010 – and its seventh globally.
Located on Abu Dhabi’s vibrant Yas Island, already home to attractions like Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld, the waterfront Disney destination is poised to become a key part of the UAE’s tourism strategy. The park will blend Disney’s beloved characters and storytelling with Emirati architecture and design.
“This is a thrilling moment for our company,” said Robert A. Iger, CEO, The Walt Disney Company. “Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati – an oasis of extraordinary Disney entertainment at this crossroads of the world.”

While the exact line-up of attractions is still under wraps, Disney has confirmed the resort will feature themed accommodations, retail, dining, and interactive experiences using cutting-edge technology. Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, described it as “the most advanced and interactive destination in our portfolio”.
The resort will be fully developed and operated by Miral, with Disney Imagineers leading the creative and operational vision. His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, said the collaboration aims to create "a whole new world of imagination" in Abu Dhabi.
No opening date has been announced yet.
