Tasmanian Walking Company has announced the launch of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk, a five-day guided walk through the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The walk, set to begin in April 2026, will be the first time visitors can stay overnight within the World Heritage-listed park, in environmentally sustainable accommodation.

Developed in consultation with Anangu Traditional Owners, the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Board of Management, and Parks Australia, the walk will allow small groups of up to 14 participants to explore the 54 km trail. The journey will begin at Kata Tjuta’s domes and continue towards Uluru, traversing red dunes and mulga woodlands.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in art workshops and land management lessons, and will enjoy three-course meals under starry skies. Tasmanian Walking Company co-owner Brett Godfrey described the experience as "a desert journey into the heart of Australia and a trail that unites two geological icons."

Anangu Steering Committee Chair, Tapaya Edwards, said, “This walk invites [visitors] to slow down, to look beyond the physical beauty of our home and to take time to learn about the customs that are so important to us."

The walk will mark the company’s second offering in the Northern Territory, following the Larapinta Signature Walk, which launched in 2022.
