Singapore-based Bacha Coffee will enter Japan in 2025 as it seeks new opportunities to attract customers from around the world.
The Morocco-inspired heritage coffee brand has signed a franchise agreement with Tokyo-based railway conglomerate The Tokyu Group.
Bacha Coffee is popular among tourists in Singapore, who are attracted to the brand’s glitzy packaging and swish stores, inspired by the Dar el Bacha palace in Marrakech.
The coffee sells in premium retail destinations in Singapore, including Marina Bay Sands resort, Orchard Road shopping street and Changi Airport.
Owner, food and beverage group, V3 Gourmet, also operates the premium TWG Tea chain.
A Bacha Coffee store is opening on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, part of a plan to establish more than 150 stores worldwide within three years, including stores in Shanghai,, Macau and Saudi Arabia.
Taha Bouqdib, chief executive and president of V3 Gourmet, told the Financial Times he wanted to be in “all the major cities of the world”.
