Travel technology company Travelport has launched a new Content Curation Layer (CCL) for its Travelport+ platform. This AI-powered tool aims to help travel agencies manage and search through multi-source content more efficiently.

The CCL uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to quickly sort through billions of trip options and deliver relevant search results to travel agencies. This technology is designed to work with various content sources, including low-cost carriers, EDIFACT, NDC, hotels, and car rentals.

Greg Webb, CEO at Travelport, explained the purpose of the CCL: "The Content Curation Layer will allow travel agencies to provide travellers the right range of normalised, enriched, bookable content at speed, via a singular search screen. Used for all content sources (LCC, EDIFACT, NDC, hotel, car, etc.), the CCL allows agents to compare apples to oranges in an apples-to-apples way."

A key feature of the CCL is the Content Optimiser, which gives agencies more control over content types, including traditional and NDC content. Agencies can set their own rules to customise search options and results, potentially improving revenue optimisation and reducing content overload.

Webb added, "Our travel agency partners know their travellers well, and Content Optimiser gives agencies the ability to set their own rules and customise the type of results that are prioritised."

The CCL is designed to simplify content delivery to agencies and help them curate options that best suit their travelers' needs. Travelport states that this technology can return search results faster than the average airline search response time.
