The Philippines will be the host of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, following the withdrawal of Myanmar from its hosting duties in the regional event rotation.
The announcement was made during a ceremonial handover at the closing of ATF 2025 at Johor International Convention Center on 20 January, when Philippines Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco received the symbolic gavel from Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.
The ATF 2026 will feature the ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Meeting in Cebu, with preparatory events scheduled in Manila and Boracay. Alongside the ASEAN meetings, the Philippines will also host the TRAVEX trade show and various related conferences.
Prior to the handover ceremony, at the ‘Love the Philippines Night’, Secretary Frasco extended a warm invitation to fellow ASEAN nations and partners. “The Philippines, with its spirit of hospitality and deep sense of community, stands ready to open its pristine shores to all of you, where we will write a new chapter of the ASEAN story: a legacy of unity, sustainability, and prosperity for all,” she added.
The Philippines last hosted the ATF in 2016 in Manila, and prior to that in Davao in 2006.
