Preparations are underway for World Expo 2025, taking place in Osaka - Japan's second-largest city and culinary capital - from April to October next year.
World Expo, first held in 1851, takes place every five years. The 2025 event (Osaka Kansai Expo) will focus on developing and adopting best practices from around the world to drive co-creation in designing a sustainable society that supports social challenges, emerging sciences and evolving technologies.
Various Japanese organisations are collaborating to promote the event which will include guided tours focused on the concept of "Designing Future Society for Our Lives”.
OMO7 Osaka, an urban tourism hotel by Hoshino Resorts, has been appointed a partner sponsor of World Expo 2025.
Located in front of Shin-Imamiya Station in Osaka's Naniwa Ward, the hotel’s architecture includes Japan's first membrane covered exterior design, reducing the solar radiation load and mitigating the heat island effect.
General manager of OMO7 Osaka, Shota Kabuki said, “We hope that the Osaka Kansai Expo will serve as a catalyst for revitalising the entire city of Osaka, leading to sustainable development.
“As a member of the community, OMO7 Osaka is dedicated to contributing to the success of the Expo and the future beyond it.”
