Eddy Soemawilaga has been re-elected as the President of the ASEAN Tourism Association (ASEANTA) for the 2025-2027 term. His re-election was confirmed during the Annual General Meeting held in Phnom Penh.

Soemawilaga expressed his gratitude to the ASEANTA Management Committee for their support during his first term. "I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the Management Committee for their unwavering support in navigating challenges and driving progress," he said.

Under Soemawilaga's leadership in the previous term, ASEANTA successfully organised TRAVEX at the ASEAN Tourism Forum in both Laos (2024) and Malaysia (2025). These events helped further strengthen ASEAN's tourism ties, showcasing the region’s diverse offerings and creating new opportunities for growth and collaboration within the sector.

Looking ahead, Soemawilaga outlined his vision for the next term: "My vision is to build an effective and impactful organisation that delivers concrete initiatives benefiting both our members and the broader public through strong partnerships." He expressed confidence that continued collaboration would help overcome challenges and drive ASEAN tourism forward.

The ASEANTA committee members for 2025-2027 are:

  • Deputy President – Mariegel Manotok, Philippine Travel Agencies Association

  • Secretary-General – Nigel Wong, Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents

  • Treasurer – Christina Toh, Malaysian Association of Hotels

  • Committee Member – Pauline Suharno, ASTINDO

  • Committee Member – Chhay Sivlin, Cambodia Association of Travel Agents

  • Committee Member – Kyaw Bohne Naing, Union of Myanmar Travel Association
