The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has announced that Kedah will be featured as 'Malaysia’s Favourite Destination' at the upcoming MATTA Fair, scheduled for 18-20 April 2025, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.
This year’s MATTA Fair will highlight Kedah’s natural beauty as part of ongoing efforts to promote domestic tourism, including the emerald-green paddy fields of Kampung Sungai Pau, the peaks of Gunung Jerai and the blue waters of Langkawi, showcasing the state’s rich heritage and hidden gems.
Dato’ Haji Mohd Salleh Saidin, chairman of Kedah State Tourism Culture and Entrepreneurship, added: “This recognition is a great honour for the state of Kedah, especially as we launch the ‘Visit Kedah 2025’ campaign. We have scheduled 170 events throughout the year, including 45 major events, and are already seeing positive results, with Langkawi welcoming 300,000 visitors in January 2025.”

Attendees can also look forward to the new Outbound Business to Business event, ‘MATTA Connect’, on 17 April 2025 at MITEC, which aims to provide sellers from various countries the opportunity to connect with local travel agents and explore new business ventures.
The MATTA Fair will offer free admission and operate from 10am to 9pm on the event days. Free shuttle services from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall to MITEC will be available, with parking facilities at several locations in MITEC.
