India’s Creative Travel has been reassuring travellers that India is a safe destination to visit despite ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Recent missile attacks involving both countries have been paused during a ceasefire, allowing the reopening of 32 airports across northern and western India that, until Monday, had been closed for civil flight operations. Some 25 international flight routes were also sanctioned to reopen.
Creative Travel’s joint managing directors, Rajeev and Rohit Kohli noted, “India is a vast, diverse, and resilient country. Isolated incidents do not define the safety of travel across its many regions.
“Outside of the Kashmir Valley, life continues as normal in all Indian cities and tourist spots. There are no disruptions in services or schedules. Indian authorities have increased security in Kashmir as a preventive measure.
“Standard advisories already recommend avoiding Jammu and Kashmir and the immediate India-Pakistan border region, which has always been the case.”
Creative added that while border tensions always draw attention, “it is important to keep perspective”.
“The vast distance and India’s regional diversity ensure that an incident in one corner of the country does not impact other regions.”
