Visitors can now use Taiwan-Japan Travel Passes on public transit networks in both Taiwan and Japan. The passes, developed by Taoyuan Metro, Taipei MRT, and Japan’s Keisei Electric Railway, offer discounts of up to 7%.

The basic package includes a one-way ticket on the Taoyuan MRT Line and a Skyliner ticket on the Keisei Electric Railway for ¥2,780 (US$19.76).

For those travelling to Japan, additional options are available to add a one-day, two-day, or three-day subway pass for Tokyo, with total costs ranging from ¥3,580 (US$25.45) to ¥4,280 (US$3042).

For travellers heading to Taiwan, the package includes a one-way Skyline ticket, a 72-hour pass for the Taipei MRT, and round-trip tickets on the Taoyuan International Airport MRT Line, priced at ¥4,830 (US$34.33).

These passes can be purchased through online travel platforms in Taiwan and Japan. After purchase, buyers will receive a QR code and can redeem physical tickets at designated counters at Keisei Electric Railway and Taoyuan MRT stations. Tickets must be redeemed by 31 August 2025, and one-way tickets should be used within 90 days of redemption.
