Ed Sheeran will perform in Bhutan for the first time on 24 January 2025, marking a historic moment for the country. The concert, part of his record-breaking +–=÷x Tour 2025, will take place at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, making Bhutan the latest stop on the global music tourism map.

This concert represents Bhutan’s first-ever major international show and signals a potential shift towards music tourism for the mountain kingdom.

The event is being promoted by Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), a development project backed by the vision of His Majesty King Jigme. GMC seeks to balance the country’s spiritual heritage with modern growth, positioning Bhutan as a sustainable hub for business and culture.

With its breathtaking natural beauty and strong cultural identity, Bhutan’s entry into the international music scene offers a new avenue for tourism.

“Ed Sheeran’s +–=÷x Tour 2025 is the perfect platform to highlight Bhutan’s unique cultural heritage and pristine landscapes,” said the GMC organisers. “This concert will demonstrate how economic progress can coexist with the country’s rich traditions.”

As Bhutan looks to attract global attention, this concert offers a glimpse into the kingdom’s growing openness to international events, potentially paving the way for more music tourism and cultural exchanges in the future.

With Ed Sheeran’s performance, Bhutan’s distinctive charm and commitment to sustainability are set to captivate a worldwide audience, opening new doors for tourism and global connections.
