Rejuvenated and rehabilitated, Thai Airways believes it will have plenty to celebrated in 2025, its 65th anniversary.

In June, the flag carrier will exit bankruptcy protection, cutting itself loose from its state enterprise past, and resuming operations as a privatised public company.

The coming year will also be marked by new aircraft and inflight products, including new uniforms and amenity kits.

Thai Airways next-generation business class, to be revealed May, will include suites with “privacy doors” and 24-inch screens fitted across 44 of its long-range Boeing jets, including 30 new 787 Dreamliners and 14 current 777-300ERs.

One option passengers won’t have on the new aircraft is a first class cabin. In its place will be a row of ‘business plus’ suites  which the airline says will “offer an experience close to first class”.

The Boeing 777 and 787 cabins will offer premium economy, but the 777s will see economy move from rows of nine-abreast 3-3-3 to a 3-4-3 layout during the refit.

Thai Airways has ruled out the return of its six Airbus A380s.

The flag carrier’s just-announced summer programme will offer daily flights from Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.

London, Istanbul, Zurich, Milan, Brussels, and Paris will also enjoy daily connections.

Thai Airways will reveal its next-generation business class in May as the airline marks both its 65th anniversary and an exit from five years of bankruptcy-protected restructuring.
